【摘要】:Whenproperlyperformedandinterpreted,theflatteningtestwillprovideinformationabouttherelativeductilityofatubeandpresenceofsurfacedefects.Forweldedtubeproducts,thetestwillprovideinformationontheintegrityoftheweldseam.Incertainproductspecificationswhichestablishrequirementsfortubesofsizesgreaterthan4in.[100mm],thetestmaybeallowedasasubstitutetotheexpansionpintestinB153.1.1Thistestmethodestablishestherequirementsfortheflatteningtestforcopperandcopperalloypipeandtubeofallsizes.Themethodaddressesbothinch-poundandmetricconsiderations,andbothseamlessandweldedproduct.1.2Units8212;Valuesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Withinthetext,SIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
