【摘要】:Thispracticeisusefulforpreparingextractsfromfiredebrisforlateranalysisbygaschromatography,GC/MS,orGC/IR.Thisisaverysensitiveseparationprocedure,capableofisolatingquantitiessmallerthan1/10x03BC;Lofignitableliquidresiduefromasample.1.1Thispracticecoverstheprocedureforremovingsmallquantitiesofignitableliquidresiduefromsamplesoffiredebrisusinganadsorbentmaterialtoextracttheresiduefromthestaticheadspaceabovethesample,thenelutingtheadsorbentwithasolvent.1.2Whilethispracticeissuitableforsuccessfullyextractingignitableliquidresiduesovertheentirerangeofconcentration,theheadspaceconcentrationmethodsarebestusedwhenahighlevelofsensitivityisrequiredduetoaverylowconcentrationofignitableliquidresiduesinthesample.1.2.1Unlikeothermethodsofseparationandconcentration,thispracticeisessentiallynondestructive.1.3Alternateseparationandconcentrationproceduresarelistedinthereferenceddocuments.(seePracticesE1385,E1386,E1388,andE1413).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
